Larry Sarezky
Larry Sarezky is a family law attorney and mediator in Fairfield Connecticut who currently limits his practice to divorce mediation and consultation. He is a past Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Family Law Section and member of the CBA’s Liaison with the State Courts Committee, a think tank of leading lawyers and judges. During a 30-plus-year career, Larry has represented clients from the ranks of Fortune 500 CEOs, Baseball Hall of Famers and Oscar, Grammy and Emmy Award winners.
Larry’s legal skills have been recognized by clients, colleagues and judges. In May 2016, Larry published Divorce, Simply Stated, an amazon #1 best-selling and award-winning how-to-divorce book that explains the basics of divorce law and finance and shares tips and strategies that Larry has used for his clients throughout his career. Also an award-winning filmmaker, Larry wrote and directed the nationally acclaimed Talk to Strangers, a Telly Award winning short film portraying the impact of child custody litigation on children. The film is currently being used by judges, lawyers, therapists, and other divorce professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad. Talk to Strangers has been featured at meetings of national professional organizations such as The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, The American Psychoanalytic Association, and The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, which is partnering with Larry in its distribution.
Larry also authored The Talk to Strangers Pocket Guide for Parents, which offers parents conflict-avoidance and consensus building strategies to avoid high-conflict divorce.
Larry has addressed bar associations and other groups of lawyers, judges and laymen across the country on family law topics. His writing on family law has been featured in The Huffington Post, The Connecticut Lawyer magazine, ezinearticles.com, divorcedmoms.com and numerous other on-line venues. In January 2015, Larry joined international divorce experts participating in International Child-Centered Divorce Month, a program educating parents about the effects of divorce on children.
Larry is currently working on an audio book he has written for witnesses in family court cases entitled Become Your Own Star Witness.
Larry has been appointed a Special Master in the judicial districts of Stamford and Fairfield, CT and is a member of The Connecticut Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Association for Conflict Resolution.
